Quick Start Guide for Traeger:

1. Fill the Pellet Hopper

Open the lid of the pellet hopper and pour in the Traeger hardwood pellets of your choice. Always use Traeger brand pellets to ensure quality and compatibility with your grill.

2. Initial Firing

The first firing of your grill is key as it primes the auger for subsequent use. Connect your grill to a power outlet and switch it to the "ON" position. Set the dial to "Smoke" and allow it to run for about five minutes or until you see smoke emerging from the grill.

3. Preheat the Grill

After the initial firing, it's time to set the grill to the necessary temperature for cooking. The digital elite controller allows temperature adjustments in 5-degree increments. Allow the grill to preheat for 10-15 minutes.

4. Cook

Once your grill reaches the pre-set temperature, you can start cooking. Open the lid, place your food on the grate, then close the lid.

Cooking times and temperatures will depend on the type and size of the food. Always use a meat thermometer to confirm your food is fully cooked.

5. Shut Down

When you're finished grilling, turn the control dial to the "Shut Down Cycle" setting. This will start the automatic cool-down process for the grill. Once the shutdown cycle is complete and the grill has entirely cooled down, you can put a cover on the grill to shield it from weather.

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance will keep your grill in top shape. This includes emptying the pellet hopper, cleaning the grill grates, and occasionally vacuuming out the firepot.

Safety Note:

NEVER use gasoline, gasoline-type lantern fuel, kerosene, charcoal lighter fluid, or similar liquids to start or freshen up a fire in this grill. Always use the tools that come with your grill appropriately.
